Some of the basic requirements to join Mortar Board Forum Chapter include the following:

  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA

  • Minimum of 90 hours by the end of Summer 2008

  • Commitment to active membership

  • Graduation date after Summer 2008

  • In short, we want you to be a prospective senior graduating between December 2008 and June of 2009.

Mortar Board Forum Chapter is a collection of the best and brightest seniors at Texas Tech University. Membership is very limited and those chosen are held to high standards. A typical membership will see required meetings every other week from the beginning of the Fall semester to the end of the Spring semester.

Being a member requires dedication and enthusiasm to uphold all Mortar Board standards.  Mortar Board members are expected to come to bi-monthly meetings and participate in committees.  Our chapter has many projects: graduation flower sales, President for a Day (a campus-wide raffle where a student gets to trade places with the Texas Tech President), Faculty Recognition, and Apple Polishing (an event recognizing those professors who have meant the most to us).  Each upcoming class of members should strive to make these projects better than in previous years.
